Now in its twelfth year, this day camp, held on-site at CSF's facilities on the Boulder campus of the University of Colorado, is a lively and challenging 3-week summer program focusing on the skills needed for acting Shakespeare, taught by CSF professionals. Performance training includes daily sessions in acting Shakespeare, bi-weekly sessions in vocal production and movement and workshops in stage combat. Each class prepares a shortened Shakespeare play from the CSF summer season to present at the CSF Green Show and at the Camp Shakespeare Performance Extravaganza during the final week of camp.
Placement
There are three levels of training at Camp Shakespeare based primarily on age, then experience. (It is not unusual for a student to return to the same level of training two or three years in a row.) Each group focuses on a show from CSF's 2010 summer season. The culmination of the students' work is showcased at the Camp Shakespeare Performance Extravaganza on Saturday, August 7th.
